Arotech’s IES Taser
Courseware to be Featured at the 2004 Taser Tactical Conference
in Las Vegas
Miami Police Head of Training
will speak on Taser training experience
April
14, 2004 - Arotech Corporation (NasdaqNM: ARTX) announced today
that the courseware developed for the Taser less-lethal weapon will
be featured at the Taser Tactical Conference, April 17 & 18,
2004, in Las Vegas, NV. Sgt. Richard Gentry, head of training for
the Miami Police Department, will present the exclusive Taser training
course developed by Arotech’s use-of-force training subsidiary,
IES Interactive Training, Inc. in cooperation with Taser International.
IES Interactive has been invited
by Taser International to demonstrate Taser training on the Range
3000 use-of-force simulator at the conference. The system features
the patent pending exclusive Taser laser weapon, which uses two
laser beams for a realistic simulation of the two Taser probes.
“We purchased two IES laser
Taser weapons for our IES Range 3000 simulator”, said Sgt.
Richard Gentry, Head of Training for Miami PD. “During 2003,
the Miami Police Department made history with not a single officer
involved shooting, which is credited to the training and the less-than
lethal weapons we have”.
The IES 4-hour fully interactive
course for the Range 3000 simulator introduces the basic skills
and knowledge needed to carry the most advanced less lethal tool
for law enforcement today. It is designed to enhance the delivery
of the Taser International Basic User Course taught around the world
by Taser International Master Instructors. At the conclusion of
the Taser International M26 User Course the trainee will know and
understand the functionality, nomenclature, and maintenance of the
Advanced Taser M26. IES is currently expanding the successful partnership
with Taser to produce the new X-26 Interactive user course in conjunction
with Taser to be released this summer.
“We are proud to have been
the first to develop interactive training tools for Taser,”
said Robert S. Ehrlich, Arotech’s Chairman, President and
CEO. “The Taser is gaining acceptance, and our training course
is an important element in officer training for this less lethal
weapon.”
